John W. Winkler Signature Initial |
Bread and Butter Farm Scenes These Bread and Butter etchings were inspired by John W. Winkler's stay in Nebraska on a farm. His departure was brought about when a neighbor farmer wanted Winkler to marry his daughter. The etchings were done in the 50's. He used them as thank yous to friends for hospitality. There were no clear numbers for editions. One posthumous edition was issued and signed by Mrs. Winkler. All the etchings include cows and wheat, symbolizing bread and butter. Many of them were done on antique papers. If you buy two or more of these prints, you will receive a 10% discount.
