California Mountains
John W. Winkler's etchings of the California Sierra Nevada Mountains reflect his many trips there, both for his pleasure and for his art projects. He carried plates and paper with him and made many images of these breathtaking mountains and lakes. He carved over 200 boxes from these mountain woods and used the mountain theme in many jewelry pieces he made. ("These will be listed in a later catalog.)
