This is a 20 etching set done for the Washington Bi-centennial. John W. Winkler did many conte-crayon drawings to prepare for the etchings which are superior. Because his acid spilled he had to do the plate in two days for the deadline. The etching shows a scene of the signing of the Constitution with all the major figures around. Thomas Jefferson is in the middle and George Washington is high in the background. Size - 9-3/8" x 13-1/2" Creation Date - 1917 Edition - 21 Price - $500 |
